The new Toyota Proace range launches in Ireland

Both commercial and passenger Toyota Proace versions go on sale.

What's the news?

The new Toyota Proace range of commercial and passenger vehicles has been officially launched in Ireland. There will be three body lengths available; Compact, Medium and Long. It gives Toyota one of its more comprehensive commercial vehicle ranges for some time. The Proace Compact features three seats up front, while the Medium is also available as a crew cab in addition to panel, semi-glazed, glazed or combi variants. Both the Medium and Long have the same 3.2m wheelbase, but the Long gains a larger rear overhang for increased capacity.

There will be two specification grades on the Proace - GL and a higher GX, though the latter will only be available on the Medium and Long sized Proace vans. With the GL standard equipment includes 16-inch steel wheels, black bumpers, door handles, heated door mirrors and side mouldings. Inside there is cruise control with a speed limiter function, Bluetooth, electric windows, tyre pressure warning system, a solid bulkhead, 180-degree panel rear doors and pre-wiring for a tow bar system. The GX specification in addition to that adds colour-coded bumpers, door handles, mirrors, side mouldings, LED daytime running lights, and front fog lamps. The interior features air conditioning, rear parking sensors, rear view mirror, Smart Cargo Seat, and a glazed bulkhead.

On the Proace Verso there are four different versions available; a Combi, Shuttle, Family and VIP and will range in seating from six to nine passengers depending on the model. Models will feature alloy wheels ranging in size from 16- to 17-inch steel wheels or 17-inch alloy wheels.

Toyota will offer a choice of 1.6- to 2.0-litre diesel engines ranging in power from 95- to 150hp with either five- or six-speed manual transmissions in the Proace commercial van. A more powerful 180hp version will be offered with an automatic transmission in the passenger Verso VIP model.
