Peugeot's plans for the Geneva Motor Show

Stars of the Peugeot stand in Geneva will include the facelifted 308 and the new 508.

At the Geneva Motor Show Peugeot is presenting new electric and hybrid technologies in addition to new models. The French auto maker steps one digit further to create the new 308, 508 and the 3008 HYbrid4.

The main objective for the new 308 is economy. Reduced weight by 25kg, low-resistance tyres, revised aerodynamics and optimised petrol and diesel engines contribute to this goal. Power ranges from 99- to 203hp for the former and 93- to 165hp for the latter. In addition, the 1.6-litre HDi FAP 114hp diesel is equipped with a micro-hybrid solution, i.e. start-stop technology coupled with a reversible alternator. This results in 98g/km CO2 emissions and conformance with Euro 5 regulations. This engine will be available in the Peugeot 508 as well.

Peugeot's 3008 HYbrid4 drivetrain option, being the first diesel hybrid on the market, will launch in mid-2011. The system enables CO2 emissions of 99g/km for the Peugeot 3008.
