Sporty FR version for SEAT Ateca

Award-winning SEAT Ateca SUV gets go-faster trim.

What's the news?

SEAT will use the Barcelona Motor Show in May to unveil the FR version of the hugely successful Ateca SUV.

FR will sit between the SE and X-Cellence versions of the Ateca, and will feature 18-inch 'Performance' alloy wheels (with 19-inch machine-finished wheels as an option), body-coloured wheelarch extensions and side-skirts, a chrome trim along the doors, a rear spoiler, new bumpers, blacked-out window frames, roof rails and grille, and a peppering of FR logos. The LED front fog lights also come with an exclusive FR-spec design.

Inside, there are more FR logos, leather sports steering wheel, sports seats finished in Alcantara (with leather as an option), aluminium pedals, red stitching, and an FR finish for the door and roof mouldings.

There are no major mechanical changes, and the FR Ateca will be available with the 150hp and 190hp 2.0-litre diesel engines, and the option of a new 190hp 2.0-litre TSI petrol model. Four-wheel drive is optional, as is Dynamic Chassis Control (which allows you to toggle between Eco, Comfort and Sport modes), and progressive power steering.

Irish prices and more details will be announced in the summer.
