Lamborghini donates one-off Huracan to the Pope

Special rear-drive Lambo will be auctioned off for charity,

What's the news?

Parochial houses up and down the land will be abuzz this morning with news that the Pope's getting a Lamborghini. Is now the right time for Sister Imelda to try and trade-in that old Starlet? Sadly not. His Holiness Pope Francis won't be driving around the Vatican in his 600hp supercar, instead it will be auctioned off for charity.

And that money won't be resting in anyone's account, either. It will go to help charities that work in Africa, that work with the victims of human trafficking, and with Christian communities in Iraq.

The one-off Huracan has been created by Lamborghini's Ad Personam custom-building service, and has been painted to match the Vatican City flag, with Bianco Monocerus white paint and yellow Giallo Tiberino highlights marking out the Huracan's silhouette.

The car was presented to the Pope by Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini.

Please note that the car will not be used for entering the Eurovision, kicking anyone up the arse (especially a Bishop), singing Bohemian Rhapsody in a cave, or making a cup of tea. Ah, go on...
