McLaren 570GT goes dark for MSO Black Collection

Lots of black inside and out on 100-off McLaren 570GT MSO Black Collection - for around €386k!

What's the news?

If you've always wanted a really mean and moody McLaren 570GT, then this new limited-edition machine from McLaren Special Operations (MSO) is the one for you - it's called the 570GT MSO Black Collection.

Majoring on the black finish inside and out, the MSO Black Collection also boasts some useful technical extras, like an MSO Defined Titanium SuperSports Exhaust and the dynamic-handling Sport Pack, too. You'll need to move almost as fast as the 570GT itself to bag one of these dark delights, though, as just 100 examples of the Black Collection will be built for the entire worldwide market.

MSO's latest new paint, Carbon Black, was developed specifically for this 570GT and it teams up to an MSO Defined Black Pack; this replaces the formerly Dark Palladium front and rear splitters, side skirts and air intakes with the same components finished in black. In the wheel arches are five twin-spoke lightweight forged alloy wheels with a Gloss Black Diamond finish and Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, these rims sitting in front of black brake callipers with carbon-ceramic brakes.

Inside, it's more of the same, as Jet Black semi-aniline leather seats with unique MSO embroidery on the head restraints is complemented by Carbon Black Alcantara details for the centre tunnel, lower instrument panel, headlining, steering wheel and speaker surrounds. The memory-function chairs are electrically adjusted and heated, while even the ignition key for the car is painted in Carbon Black. Final touches include a bespoke Dedication Plate under the centre console and a panoramic roof up top with black privacy tint glass. For an extra fee, an MSO Defined Electrochromic panoramic roof is an option here, which allows various shades of tinting to be chosen using the item's 'smart glass' technology.

McLaren says the Sport Pack sharpens the 570GT's handling while the carbon-ceramic stoppers are ideal for those who enjoy spirited motoring or track days, but the SuperSports exhaust - with a Nano Black finisher - should provide more audible pleasure at all road speeds, as it's five decibels louder than the standard kit, and it also reduces the weight of the mid-engined Sports Series car by 5kg. Buyers of the 570GT MSO Black Collection will also enjoy the GT Upgrade Pack, which comprises a Vehicle Lift, Rear-View Camera, Power Adjust Steering Column and the 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Audio System.

Anything else?

Rob Melville, design director at McLaren Automotive, said: "McLaren Special Operations allows our customers to fully express themselves through their cars, and the new 570GT MSO Black Collection is no different. Black is a colour associated with elegance, power and authority, while it is also surrounded by a certain air of mystery. The end result remains true to the luxurious nature of the 570GT but we managed to further amplify its sleek, sporty character with a wealth of new MSO Defined options, which I am sure will delight discerning owners."

The price premium for the 570GT MSO Black Collection is around 17 per cent on top of the cost of a regular 570GT, so if you're planning on bringing one here, expect to pay around €386,000 imported. Not put off by the price tag? Then head to the McLaren website for more details.
