Jaguar Land Rover Ireland appoints new Managing Director

New appointments in other senior positions announced at JLR Ireland.

What's the news?

Jaguar Land Rover Ireland has named Eddie Kavanagh as its new Managing Director. He has worked with Jaguar Land Rover for several years, becoming Sales Director in 2009. Taking over the position of Sales Manager for Jaguar Land Rover Ireland is Jonathan Norman. In his previous role as Regional Sales Manager, he has overseen the roll-out of six showroom redevelopments that represent both brands' new corporate identity.

The other new appointment to JLR Ireland management is Louis Carroll, who is now Network and Business Development Manager, assuming all responsibility for the development of the retail network in addition to his current role in business development.

Commenting on the trio of announcements, Gerard O'Farrell, Director of the OHM Group, said: We are delighted to announce these appointments. The new team will align their skills and responsibilities to the future needs of the business and continue to work to maximise the growth and development of the Jaguar Land Rover business as we look forward to 2020 and beyond."

Anything else?

The new Land Rover Discovery is leading the registration figures for the brand in Ireland, with year-to-date registrations holding firm for the brand compared to the same period in 2017. A new commercial vehicle version aimed at business users, but with the five-seat commercial loophole closed, this two-seat version may not have the same impact on sales.

Things aren't as stable for Jaguar, where registrations are down 18 per cent this year compared with the same period last year. The brand hopes to get a bite of the electric vehicle cherry later this year with the launch of the all-electric I-Pace model.
