As type casting goes, Lewis Hamilton's first film role is pretty good. He's been announced as the voice of one of the racing cars in the new Cars 2 film.
It won't take a film or car buff to spot Lewis's character is closely based on the McLaren MP4-12C road car. Lewis plays a "sleek and seriously fast Grand Touring Sports Champion", a role he's very well suited to.
Another Brit has also been announced as part of the all-star cast of the next Cars film. David Hobbs, the Formula One announcer, will voice the part of a Jaguar E-Type character. Hobbs has raced in 20 Le Mans 24 Hours races and his character will be called Hobbscap.
The new Cars 2 film is released in the USA on 24 June, with its Irish release to follow soon after in time for the school holidays.
