McLaren reveals exhausts of Goodwood reveal car

Fifth McLaren model of the Track22 business plan will be limited-build, lightweight track machine.

What's the news?

McLaren is going to reveal an all-new car at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which it has been teasing since last week. This time around, we're getting to see its exhausts.

Given the company describes these as 'a pair of formidable top-exit exhausts', it's probably a given that it won't be a Sports Series, erm, entry-level model. Indeed, McLaren goes on to say it will benefit from 'increased power, minimised weight, optimised aerodynamics and enhanced driver engagement'. And it will deliver 'track-focused dynamics'.

Furthermore, McLaren is intimating it will be strictly limited in build, like the Senna, but it is not believed to be the BP23 hypercar that is also confirmed to be on the way to McLaren showrooms in the near future.

The Goodwood model will be the fifth car launched under McLaren's Track22 business plan and will be driven up the Sussex venue's famous Hill Climb for the first time on Thursday, July 12. More details on and images of the vehicle will be released, along with its name, on June 28, at 1pm.

Anything else?

If you can't wait that long, head to the McLaren website to torment yourself further with half-glimpses of the newcomer.
