What's the news?

Changes at the top of Audi Ireland see Thorsten Godulla take over the role of Managing Director from Henning Dohrn, who moves on and up to the position of Head of Sales Strategy in Audi's headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany. Godulla arrives from Ingolstadt where he oversaw the role of Director of Overseas Sales for Africa and Near Middle East region. He has worked with Audi for 25 years and brings a wealth of experience in numerous areas of the business. Part of his new role will be overseeing the introduction of Audi's first fully electrified models.

Speaking on the appointment, Fintan Knight, Head of Europe Audi AG said: "I'm delighted to announce Thorsten as the new Managing Director of Ireland; he brings with him a very high level of expertise which will be needed to underpin our position as the most desired premium car brand in Ireland. Especially Thorsten's strong skills in sales and product and our youngest product portfolio in the premium segment will be the base for the future success of Audi in Ireland. Moreover, one of the next steps is the launch of the all-new Audi Q8.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Henning for his strong contribution to the business over the past years. He expanded the dealer network, increased customer convenience by digitalisation and kept the No.1 position in the premium Market for Audi during his time heading Audi Ireland. He also prepared the brand for the market launch of the upcoming generation of fully electric Audis. I am very much looking forward to working more closely with him in the future here in Germany."
