What's the news?
Renault has announced its offers for the 191-registration period, as well as a shakeup of its model range brought about by the new WLTP emissions and economy regulations.
The highlights are these - those looking for a Kadjar SUV can have more than €4,000 off the price tag (depending on their trade-in), plus 1.91 per cent APR interest on both PCP and Hire Purchase finance, and a free servicing plan, and up to €1,000 cashback. Not bad, but worth remembering that the Kadjar is now on a run-out, ahead of a facelifted model arriving next year.
All other models in the Renault range get €750 cashback, plus the three-years' free servicing, plus the 1.91 per cent finance.
If you're looking for an electric car, Renault claims that its Zoe 4.0 is the only long-range electric car on the market for less than €25,000, benefits from the Government's zero-rate benefit in kind tax for business users, and can be had on a zero per cent finance offer.
Over at Dacia, the new Duster is not long launched, and that and the rest of the range can be had on 4.9 per cent finance plans, with monthly repayments for a Duster starting from €149.
On the commercials side, the Master, Trafic and Kangoo vans are all available on 3.0 per cent finance plans, with five years' warranty and five years' roadside assistance.
All of those offers are available on cars ordered before the 31st of January, and if you want more details, Renault will be holding a 191 sales event at its dealerships from Thursday the 8th of November to Saturday the 10th.
On the WLTP front, Renault has made some changes and alterations to its ranges. The Zoe now gets the bigger 4.0-version battery as standard across the range, the new R110 electric motor that improves performance, and is available on a 24-hour test drive.
The Clio ditches the diesel and naturally-aspirated petrol models and now comes with a choice of two versions of the 900cc three-cylinder turbo in 75hp and 90hp forms. Prices start from €16,390.
The Captur compact crossover now comes with 90hp 900cc turbo petrol or 90hp 1.5-litre dCi diesel choices, and comes as standard with alloy wheels, air conditioning and Bluetooth connectivity. Prices start from €20,290.
The Megane's 1.5-litre diesel gets a power boost, to 115hp, and there's a new 1.3-litre TCe turbo petrol choice, with 140hp. All models now come with a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, as well as climate control and alloy wheels. Prices start at €22,140.
The Kadjar and Scenic both also get the 140hp 1.3-litre TCe engine, while the Kadjar gets the new 115hp 1.5-litre diesel, and a new 1.7-litre diesel version will arrive during 2019 for the Scenic. Prices aren't available for these models as yet. They'll be announced in December. Likewise, the big Koleos SUV won't have new WLTP pricing until January, but there are some 2018 versions available on runout.
Dacia Duster prices start from €17,390, while the Sandero hatch begins at €10,990 and the Logan compact estate at €12,490.
Patrick Magee, Country Operations Director Renault Ireland said: "We're delighted to continue with our winning formula for our 191 offers across the award-winning range of Renault and Dacia cars and vans. We are the only brand offering 1.91 per cent APR, cashback and three years' servicing on passenger cars, delivering real and substantial savings to our customers. We're also excited to announce our new 2019 line-ups in response to the new WLTP regulations, which include bigger and better engines and higher spec equipment as standard across the board. We're gearing up for what's set to be a busy 191 registration period."
