What's the news?
The Joe Duffy Group has officially opened its new Porsche facility near to Exit 5 off the M50 in Dublin. It sees the Group's Porsche operations move from Rochestown Avenue in Dún Laoghaire and is a significant expansion in size. The €10 million investment in the site is part of a larger expansion plan that also saw a new BMW, MINI and Volkswagen showrooms built alongside the Porsche facility on the same location.
Commenting on the opening of the new facility, Gavin Hydes, Joe Duffy Group Chief Executive, said: "Our further investment in Porsche is a significant part of the Group's investment and expansion plans and demonstrates our confidence in the Porsche brand. We are committed to providing an even more dynamic customer experience, and this new facility will certainly deliver this, together with unparalleled Aftersales service to all our Porsche customers."
He adds: "It will enjoy excellent visibility for the 122,000 motorists who use the M50 daily and will be southern Ireland's only Porsche dealership. With a 23-car showroom, a Porsche Classic Corner and a 7-bay workshop, this new facility will provide an exceptional environment for our customers and employees to view, showcase and experience the full Porsche range."
Anything else?
The new site should be better able to manage the expanding range of Porsche models. A new 911 is now on sale alongside a recently updated Macan range, the latter of which has been a strong seller in Ireland. Later in 2019 Porsche will officially introduce its fully-electric Taycan model, a four-door sports saloon to rival Tesla and other forthcoming high-performance electric models.
