What's the news?
Just a day after news of the BMW M8 surfaced, now M Performance has announced the de rigueur array of update parts for the new high-performance motor.
Available for the 600hp 'regular' M8 and the 625hp Competition model, first up are the exterior carbon-fibre parts. These comprise the sill attachments, the large single-piece radiator grille and the side gills on the wings. They're all rendered with a clear finish and high-gloss polish, and you can have the same treatment on the M Performance engine cover.
For those craving more stopping power, uprated M Performance sport brake pads claim to provide shorter braking distances, improved response and a higher thermal resistance, which means they should resist 'fade' for longer. Big cars, the M8s, so this is a useful addition.
Moving inside, there's a tasty M Performance Pro steering wheel with carbon-fibre shift paddles and trim elements, as well as Alcantara grips and a leather finish elsewhere. It has a blue 12 o'clock marker and triple-coloured stitching in blue, red and violet, the three shades of BMW M. Alongside the wheel, velvet velour floor mats with an M Performance inscription and M colours are available.
Anything else?
There are even a couple of M Performance accessories for the times you're not driving the M8, such as an indoor car cover made of elastic polyester and a soft, 'paint-friendly' inner lining, as well as M Performance wheel bags for that second set of really expensive alloys.
