The first ZuCar used-car supermarket has opened for business in Eastgate Business Park, Cork. The new showroom and workshop features used vehicles of all makes and models, and all fuel types too.
New way of trading
Other features at the new centre include a coffee shop and a 'customer research bar', with the whole premises born out of the idea that lots of people do not enjoy the experience of the traditional methods of buying and selling used cars.
Instead, ZuCar's retail concept involves a fixed-price used-car buying experience for customers, as well as a car-purchasing service which does not obligate the customer to have to buy one of ZuCar's vehicles in return.
Analytical processes
ZuCar claims that its analytical-based appraisal system for valuing used cars ensures that the most competitive prices possible are offered to buyers and sellers. Barry Higginbotham, general manager of ZuCar, said: "We are looking forward to inviting customers to experience our unique and stress-free used car buying and selling service. Our transparent and fixed pricing no-haggle promise will ensure that their experience is enjoyable, efficient, and most importantly, offers great value, and top-quality used cars. Our ZuGuides are here to help, not to hound."
Buyers will enjoy a five-day money-back guarantee, meaning they can get a full refund on their purchase in this timescale if they're not happy with the car. Beyond this, ZuCar offers a 30-day exchange policy, subject to terms and conditions. Mr Higginbotham added: "The concept is different from beginning to end and we invite everyone to pop in to see for themselves. We have a coffee shop so that customers can browse at their leisure with no hard sell or a salesperson following them around the showroom. We will also buy cars, even if the customer doesn't want to buy one of ours. Our sales ZuGuides are non-commissioned. We can also service any car and offer ZuCar Finance in association with Bank of Ireland. This is also great news for Cork, as we hope to generate over 25 new jobs as the business grows."
