Hyundai Ireland has revealed that the i40 range will start at €24,995 (excluding delivery charges) when it goes on sale in June. Initially the i40 is available only as an estate with a four-door saloon variant arriving in December.
Two trim levels are offered: Comfort or, for an extra €1,500, Executive. Standard equipment includes stop-start, an iPod compatible sound system and air conditioning. Executive versions also come with alloy wheels, extra chrome trim and climate control.
Power comes from a 1.7-litre diesel engine with 115hp driving through a six-speed manual gearbox. Carbon dioxide emissions are 113g/km, which means annual road tax is just €104. The Executive is also available with a 136hp version of the 1.7 diesel combined with an automatic transmission.
The Hyundai i40 estate introductory prices will apply until the saloon is launched, when the estate prices will increase by €1,500.
