Released this week were the first two images of a set of 100 taken by the photographer Rankin celebrating 100 years of the Rolls-Royce figurine, the Spirit of Ecstasy.
Like the Spirit of Ecstasy, which was created by Charles Robinson Sykes and rumoured to be modelled on Eleanor Velasco Thornton, the Rankin: Spirit of Ecstasy Collection, will be influenced by the feminine form. Rankin has turned to his wife, Tuuli Shipster, for inspiration for the first of his 100 commissioned portraits.
Rankin said: "The images will be a statement about the modern day Rolls-Royce; they will feel fresh, directional and original, while also being beautiful and inspirational."
Portraits will be presented at a range of events across the world, and owners and guests will be invited to a series of private viewings at Roll-Royce showrooms.
