New Festival of Speed for Ireland

Motorsport and car enthusiasts can look forward to a celebration of cars, planes and bikes this summer at the Irish Festival of Speed.

Ireland is to get its own 'Goodwood-style' Festival of Speed this summer.  Adare Manor in Limerick will host the Irish Festival of Speed on July 31.

The idea for the festival came from a group of like-minded motoring enthusiasts, having seen the success of similar events in Britain.

Confirmed events include the Limerick Motor Club Sprint over a 1.5 kilometre course.  Rubens Barrichello's Jordan F1 car will make demonstration runs and the Jaguar R5 Formula 1 car will be on display.  There will also be an aerobatics display and plenty of static cars and motorcycles.  Morgan has confirmed that the new Threewheeler will make its Irish debut at the festival.

The festival also marks the 75th anniversary of the Limerick 'Grands Prix'.

Tickets for the Irish Festival of Speed are on sale for a limited time at €10 each for adults. Free VIP parking is offered with every two tickets purchased and children under 16 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
