Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has teamed up with Mars Ireland and Feed The Heroes, a national fundraising effort setup to provide nutritious meals to Ireland's frontline workers. This week Mars Ireland donated over 21,000 Easter eggs which Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles helped to deliver to frontline workers and hospitals in all corners of the country. Commenting, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Director, Alan Bateson, said: "We are delighted to be able to support Feed The Heroes in some small way with the use of our vehicles. Together with Mars, who donated Easter Eggs, we can say a small thank you to the Front Line Workers in our hospitals this Easter. I am delighted with my team at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles for their work on this initiative."
Initially established by Cian O'Flaherty and Tad McAllister with the aim of raising €1,000 to fund a few meals for health workers, Feed The Heroes very quickly grew and to date has received more than 13,500 donations totally in excess of €754,000. The meals are prepared and delivered to critical frontline workers nationwide. The organisation is partnering with catering companies and restaurants to deliver a coordinated effort.
