Do warranties carry over from UK to Ireland?

If I import a car from the UK, do any manufacturers provide the balance of the new car warranty once the car has been re-registered here if the car is still in warranty in UK?

I think RWD cars should use winter tyres!

Why are winter tyres not mandatory on rear-wheel-drive cars? I’m on my second Mercedes and know to switch to winter tyres each year. I rarely see other rear-wheel-drive cars doing the same yet such vehicles are uncontrollable in icy conditions - much worse than front-wheel drive. This is a serious safety issue not just for owners but other road users. I can guarantee someone will get killed if action is not taken. I suggest campaigns but also really dealers have an onus to notify buyers. Perhaps you could highlight as well.

Thanks

How to change my Octavia's oil filter?

I was going to give my car a service, but before I start, I was wondering is the oil filter hard to gain access to, as there are two pipes running above it; it's a 2011 Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI.

Any advice would be great

Thanks

Does my dad's car need a new ECU?!

Done the pedal test on my dad's 2001 Opel Astra (it was running slow and drinking petrol) and got the codes p1122, p1120 and p1155; we were told these are to do with the car's computer and will cost in the region of €1,000 to replace the computer and reprogram. Is this correct or is it easily fixed?

What's up with my Mondeo's stereo?

I am having radio trouble with my 2008 Ford Mondeo 1.6, radio model 6000CD. The stereo goes to phone mode and won't go back to radio/CD; only way to get it to reset itself is after the car has been locked for over an hour.
