Can I change UK Passat clocks to km?

We are interested in a 2014 Volkswagen Passat Saloon 1.6 TDI Executive BlueMotion from Belfast. The speedometer is in mph only, we need it in km; can this be changed digitally on this car, or what can be done?

Thanks.

Why the different offers for my SEAT Leon?

Went wth the intention or ordering the new Audi A3 Saloon at my local dealership and they quoted me just €11,000 for my 142 SE 1.2 petrol SEAT Leon SC with just 29,500km on the clock! SEAT was offering me €16k for the same car.

What do you think the trade in value should be?

Corsa, Corolla, Micra or Polo for €2,000?

Hi, I am a first car buyer in Ireland. I would like to buy an automatic car.

The ones I am interested in are a 2002 Opel Corsa, 2004 Toyota Corolla 1.6, a Nissan Micra 1.0 from 2002 or a Volkswagen Polo 1.4 from 2000. All of them cost between €1,750 and €2,000. I am wondering if these prices are realistic for cars like these, and given the types, which one would be the best choice?

Thank you in advance,

K

Will a broken boot lock fail the NCT?

I have a 2005 Ford Focus and my electronic key has broke - Initially we thought it just needed a battery but after getting this it still didn't work. We can open the doors manually but cannot find a way to open the boot manually. Do you have any idea how? Also, will this fail an NCT?

Thanks, Karen

What's wrong with my Almera's steering?

I have a 2003 Nissan Almera and it has a new timing chain. It now drives fine for 15 minutes, then loses power and the power steering stops working. What could be the problem?

Why do rear-drive cars get stuck in the snow?

Hi,

I understand why performance drivers like to separate power wheels and "steering" wheels, but why are rear-wheel drive cars much more likely to get stuck in snow and mud?

Many thanks

Is a toothed belt the same as a timing belt?

Hello,

I have a question about timing belts. I read somewhere that for new cars timing belts are called toothed belt. Is that true? I bought a 2009 Audi A4 2.0 TDI S line and have full service history. And the history says that toothed belt was changed at 109,831km. So now I don't know how to check if it was done or if I have to change the timing belt because now on my clock there's nearly 120,000km. Can I tell the garage to change the timing belt under warranty?

Regards, Evaldas

Will my car pass its NCT without rear wiper?

My rear wiper arm broke off and my car is due to its NCT. Somebody told me it will still pass its test without it. Is this true?
