Buying a Lexus from a non-Lexus dealer
I have ordered a Lexus executive IS 220d for my wife from a Toyota dealer due to them having the best price in the area.
Is this a good car in the class and price bracket of €36,800? Are there any pitfalls to ordering from a non-Lexus dealer in terms of extra free kit or back up before I hand over the cheque? Delivery is in late June. No deposit has been paid yet. A factory sunroof is being fitted for an extra €1,150.

Can I choose to have my county registration plate?
Hi there. Here's a different one.
I'm waiting to take delivery on a new van. I'm buying it in Dublin but live in another part of the country. I assume the dealer has to obtain the vehicle's registration number so my question is this. Can it be registered at my local office so that I have my county's index plate and not a 'D'. Nothing against Dublin, just that I am a 'local' business and would like the local number.
Thanks.
Tom Kelly.

What options help a BMW 5 Series retain its value?
I am thinking of buying a BMW 520d second-hand. What are the best optional extras to look for that will help hold second-hand value in a few years? I understand that an automatic gearbox is almost essential for executive cars and that leather can also be worthwhile.

What to do with Mazda6 problems?
I have recently had a problem with my Mazda6 that has now covered 17,000 miles. This concerns a shuddering at speed that starts around 60 and is noticable right past the legal limit. It does not feel like an out of balance wheeland it seems to have come on suddenly.
Additionally I have experienced a problem with the Bose car entertainment system losing the preset stations. Tthe last time this happened there was a noticable 'popping' sound and I thought it had blown up.
Do you know if the shuddering and problems with the stereo are commom problems? I am going to contact my dealer and obviously am concerned that they may try to pass this off as damage and charge me for the repair.
What do you recommend?

Peugeot 5008 or Ford S-MAX?
I'm in the market for a seven-seater and considering either the Peugeot 5008 or Ford S-MAX. Was thinking of new Peugeot or second-hand S-MAX (based on old prices), but finding new S-MAX prices are confusing. Any thoughts of one over the other?

Legality of booster seat in middle of rear?
Hi Guys,
What is the deal with legislation in connection with seat belts in the middle of the back seat? Are children legally okay to be strapped in the middle on a booster if there is only a lap belt and not a full belt?
Asking as number three is due for August - number two and three will need a full belt for their car seats so number one will be bumped into the middle.
Thanks
Clodagh
