My Ford EcoSport cuts out...

I have a Ford EcoSport. The stop/start system, when I switch it off, at times, still makes the car judder a bit. When I've stopped, at traffic lights, then the engine switches off. I've not put it in neutral or took my foot off the clutch. This will only happen a few times, then the car runs fine, with the stop /start off. I don't understand why it still cuts off, when system is off?

Interested in buying a Kia Optima.

I am interested in buying a Kia Optima, a 1.7 CRDi 2 Luxe model, with 88,000 miles on the clock. It's a UK import registered in Ireland.

Can you tell me:

1. What price is an okay price for this car?

2. Since I am based in Ireland, can buying a UK import car be problem in any way?

3. Generally how is fuel economy for this model? Is it good/bad as compared to its competitors?

4. I am confused between Nissan Qashqai and Kia Optima. Can you advise pros/cons of one over other?

Thanks Anshul Malik

Can I buy a Toyota Hilux for mixed use?

Hi,

I have a Toyota RAV4 for private use and I use it going to work everyday and now I’m planning to change my RAV4 for a Hilux pick-up. Is it possible for me to buy this car? I’m going to use for work as property maintenance and the same time I will use as the family car. I’m not VAT-registered, I’m only self employed with pay-as-you-earn business. Your thoughts?

Thank you

Is the tax rate on my VW Jetta correct?

Hi,

Is it normal that my tax is €750 a year on a 2009 VW Jetta 1.6 petrol? If this is correct, I was wondering why it is so high?

Thank you

How best to buy a Range Rover commercial?

I'm 21 years old and working with my father on our farm. We are registered for VAT and I am wanting to buy a Range Rover Sport. Its a five-seater 3.0-litre TDV6, but you can VRT it as a commercial for €918. How can I get commercial insurance under my own name and commercial tax? Will I have to VRT it through the company?

Skoda Kodiaq: import or buy new?

Hello,

We're thinking of buying a Skoda Kodiaq seven-seat petrol. We have a €10k deposit. We have two options: get a 2017 version from UK for €30k all in or buy a new one on PCP for €37k. Repayments will be the same on a six-year HP vs a three-year PCP, but leaning towards the used option from the UK. Anything we should consider? Is it better to buy new as easier to exchange?
