What's up with my Ford's stop-start system?

I have a 2017 Ford Escape. The auto start/stop functionality stopped working after Ford dealership regenerated the computer because the car would sporadically die at intersections. Now, when I have complained the auto start/stop functionality doesn't work they have provided me a list of 10 plus scenarios when the functionality will not work. If the engine is cold, too hot, if devices are plugged in, battery low etc. It seems like this is an excuse for a software bug that Ford doesn't want to address in older models.

Your opinion is welcomed

My Skoda Superb's stop-start won't work...

Hi,

I have a Skoda Superb 1.6 TDI Greenline 3, 2014, but the stop-start has stopped working. I have had it back to the Skoda main dealer but they just keep saying they can't find anything wrong with it even though it doesn't work when they have it they just tell me that is because the engine isn't hot enough yet.

I have done a 130-mile round journey only stopping in the middle of the journey for five minutes and still the stop-start won't work. I  have told them this, but have as yet no answer for me.

I get a smell in my car and no stop-start...

When I stop the car and auto start/stop DOESN'T kick in, I get a bad chemical smell in the car. I wonder is this due to the air conditioner or could there be another reason?

The collision avoidance system and traction control keep switching off on my 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. When I switch off the engine and restart everything is ok again for approx 20km when they act up again. Any ideas?

I'm having issues with my stop-start system...

My stop-start stops working for about a week or more, then starts working again each time the car stops. Why is this? Should I get it looked at?

What's happening with my Audi Q7?

Hello,

I've been driving a beautiful Audi Q7 for just about a month. Is it a big deal that the start-stop just completely stopped working? Also, the front parking sensors are no longer going off when I pull up in front of another vehicle or when I pull into the garage; however, when I back up it works.

Can you please give me some advice?

Do VAG TSI engines have timing chain probs?

Hi,

Looking at a 2013 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI S tronic. Am I right in saying these engines are susceptible to the timing chain stretching and a hefty repair bill if it does? Would you steer clear of this engine or, generally, any of VAG TSI/TFSI engines pre-2015?

Thanks
