I got a bank loan easier than a PCP deal...

Hi,

I was trying to apply for PCP finance in February with Volkswagen Bank and got declined. I then applied for a car loan off AIB and got accept for €6k more! Do you think this would give me a footing to apply for PCP next year with Volkswagen?

They seem very strict!

A few questions on PCP finance please...

If I take out a PCP option on a new Renault after three years I can get a new car. My question is - will my repayments drop because of it being a three-year old car being upgraded to a new one? If I get a bank loan (which is dearer initially) I own the car after the loan is paid off or partly paid off and am in a better position when trading up. What collateral do I have with PCP?

Can a sole trader claim back lease payments?

Hi

I need to buy a new or second hand car. I'm thinking of going the leasing route because I have been told that I can put it through our business, which is a sole trader business, as an expense and we can claim it all back against our income. Also, I'm told that, as we are sole traders, we are exempt from benefit in kind. It sounds to good to be true!

Look forward to your advice

Is a PCP right for me in retirement?

I'm approaching 66 and recently had to retire. My state pension will be around €230 when it comes in March plus a small work pension of €57 a week. My car, an Audi A2, is a 2001 reg. It's showing signs of age and as it's an obsolete model services are expensive. I would have 3,000 maybe 3,500 Euros to put towards an upgrade. Can you advise me as to whether I should opt for a new car and a repayment plan or get a second-hand one?

I want to buy a new Suzuki Vitara...

I want to buy a Suzuki Vitara, but its finance rate is high and there are no scrappage or reduced rate offers. Other brands have great deals; do you think they will launch a finance offer soon?

Thanks

New car on PCP or secondhand?

Hi,

I'm looking at getting a small family car that's going to have low running costs. I'm torn between taking out a PCP for a new car like a Nissan Pulsar or topping up the cash I have with a small credit union loan for a five(ish)-year old car like a Hyundai i20.

Any advice?

Thanks

Will PCP work with higher mileages?

Hi there,

My beloved Alfa 1.9 JTDm 159's gearbox has gone and now needs to be replaced. Considering it is an 06 and has over 242,000 miles on the clock, it will need a clutch and DMF replacement as well. Is it worth it, and what diesel cars would be recommended for someone driving 35,000 miles a year? Are PCP options even feasible at that mileage?
