Can I have my car registered in another county?

I live in Wicklow but I would like my new car to have Kildare reg plates as this is my native county. Is this possible?

Hi Neville,

It would be if you got the car in a Kildare dealership and asked them to be the first registered owners of the car, so you would effectively be buying a demonstrator model. That has been a way of doing it for some time.
