One-off Ferrari Superamerica revealed

Ferrari has revealed the unique Superamerica 45 built for one of its best customers.

Ferrari has just completed a unique car for a customer who has been buying its cars for 45 years. The Special Projects Ferrari Superamerica 45 was commissioned by New York collector Peter Kalikow to mark the 45th anniversary of buying his first Ferrari.

Finished in Blu Antille to match Kalikow's 1961 400 Superamerica cabriolet, the new car has a rotating carbon fibre hard top with built-in rear screen. It folds under an entirely new boot design that has been styled to reduce wind drag and increase rear downforce.

The rear buttresses either side of the boot have rear quarter lights incorporated. Ferrari has also added double air vents to the side of the Superamerica 45, while the front grille, door pillars, handles and mirrors are finished in burnished aluminium.

Other unique features for Kalikow's car include the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser in carbon fibre. Inside, there's more carbon fibre in a special dark blue finish for the dashboard.

The Ferrari Superamerica 45 will make its first public appearance at the Villa d'Este Concorso d'Eleganza in Italy before joining Kalikow's collection in the USA. His collection also includes a one-off 612 Scaglietti he had made in 2006 that features a roof made of glass.
