Renault is kicking off its 'Unplugged' sales event this week and is offering extra cash off the price of low emissions and electric models.

Event starts on the 12th

Running from Thursday the 10th to Saturday the 12th of December, at all of Renault's nationwide dealer locations, the Unplugged event will offer an extra €1,000 'Green Grant' discount on its all-electric Zoe hatchback, as well as the new hybrid Renault Clio, and the plug-in hybrid Megane and Captur models.

€60 million in finance packages

Indeed, Renault Ireland, through the pan-European Renault Bank, is stumping up €2 million in backing for the 'Green Grant' and another €60 million in ready-to-go finance packages for customers looking to switch to hybrid or electric power.

The new hybrid lineup kicks off with the Clio Hybrid which is priced from €24,995, while the Zoe is still - just - Ireland's most affordable electric car, with a starting price of €26,990, including grants.

Low interest rates for HP

As well as the €1,000 Green Grant discount, Renault is offering buyers 2.11 per cent APR interest on Hire Purchase finance packages, and three months' deferred payments - which means you can put off starting your repayments for three months, with no penalty and no increase in cost applied.

Although the focus right now is on the Unplugged event this week, the offers will actually stay in place on the hybrid and electric line-up through to the end of January.
