There's almost no car that can't be made better by loading it with extra equipment and toys, right? Well, that certainly seems to be the thinking at MINI, hence the existence of this, the new Countryman Boardwalk.
Limited to 325 cars
Sort of a companion piece to the MINI Convertible Sidewalk edition, the Countryman Boardwalk will be limited to just 325 cars for the UK and Irish markets. It gets the same, very handsome, Laguna Blue paint job as seen on the MINI Sidewalk, and you can choose from Cooper or Cooper S powertrains.
Contrast black roof
The Boardwalk (is a boardwalk heavier and bigger than a sidewalk?) gets a contrasting black roof, black roof rails and piano black exterior. It has 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic tailgate, LED headlights and rear lights as standard. There's also a unique Boardwalk logo found on the vehicle side scuttles and indicator, door entry strips, cockpit fascia and passenger side lower roof.
'MINI Excitement' pack fitted
Also fitted is the 'MINI Excitement' equipment pack, which comes with MINI logo puddle lights, illuminated door handles and LED mood lighting. Additionally, the model has a fully digital display cockpit, automatic headlight activation, rain sensors and cruise control with brake function.
The Boardwalk also gets an 8.8-inch navigation screen, with real-time traffic information, Apple CarPlay, smartphone connection via the MINI app, emergency calling, and online connection with access to MINI connected services.
Wait, there's more! There's also the MINI Yours Leather and Comfort Plus Pack, which includes automatic air conditioning, heated seats, floor mats, storage pack, and front centre armrest, folding and auto-dimming mirrors, front and rear-view camera, Park Assist, and front parking sensors.
Prices for a manual Cooper Boardwalk start from STG£31,600 in the UK (we're waiting for Irish prices to be confirmed) and deliveries start in January, with order books open now.
