Flying Spur becomes third member of Bentley Mulliner Collections portfolio.

The third member of the Bentley Mulliner Collections portfolio, the Flying Spur Mulliner, has been revealed today at the prestigious Monterey Car Week in California.

Mulliner is Bentley's bespoke commissioning division and the oldest coachbuilder in the world according to the company. The Flying Spur joins the Continental GT and Continental GT Convertible in the collection.

Flying Spur Mulliner is the 'pinnacle'

Bentley is calling the Flying Spur Mulliner the 'pinnacle four-door grand tourer' - and it comes with an impressive specification to back up that claim, including exclusive 22-inch wheels equipped with self-levelling wheel caps that remain upright as the wheels rotate. It also features an electronically-deployed and illuminated Bentley Flying B bonnet mascot.

The attention to detail continues inside, where 'Diamond-in-Diamond' quilting adorns the seats alongside three-dimensional leather for the doors. The Diamond-in-Diamond embroidery process alone took 18 months to develop, and each diamond contains 712 individual stitches.

Other cabin highlights include a brushed silver Mulliner clock alongside chrome bullseye vents as the dashboard centrepiece, while the LED driver's instrument panel comes complete with new and exclusive graphics.

Those Mulliner curated interiors include Ascot, a combination of Imperial Blue leather for the instrument panel, door trims and headlining with a light tan leather called Camel to emphasise the style of the seats. White micro-piping, embroidery and accent line brings a third colour into the interior.

Bentley customers who opt for the Flying Spur Mulliner will receive leather-bound keys in a unique, Mulliner-branded presentation box to match the three-colour cabin configuration of their car.

W8, W12 or V6 hybrid power

Performance isn't lacking in any of the three available powertrain options. With the 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged W12 under the bonnet, the Flying Spur Mulliner does 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 333km/h.

The new generation 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 delivers a top speed of 318 km/h and 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds, while the new V6 hybrid - Mulliner's first electrified Bentley - accelerates from rest to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 285km/h.

Bentley hasn't yet released pricing for the sumptuous Flying Spur Mulliner.
