For any manufacturer a Le Mans victory is an achievement to be proud of. To win ten times is a feat that few companies have achieved. Audi has marked its tenth win at the Sarthe circuit with a run of 100 R8 V8 Limited Edition cars.
The new version can be identified by its red brake callipers and titanium-finish 19-inch '5-arm double-spoke Y design' alloy wheels. The design inspired by the rims fitted to the R8 GT. There is the option of titanium-effect paint, exclusive to the Limited Edition.
Red accents appear throughout the interior from the sides of the black leather seats to the contrasting stitching on the steering wheel. The floor mats have red surrounds and the R8 logo is in silver. The same insignia appears on the aluminium sill inserts.
Extra standard equipment includes satellite navigation, Bang and Olufsen sound system and Bluetooth phone preparation with seat-belt mounted microphones.
Audi's magnetic ride adaptive suspension is fitted as standard. The rest of the mechanical specification is unchanged, including the 4.2-litre, 430hp V8 and quattro all-wheel drive system. Manual and R-tronic automatic transmissions are both offered.
The first cars due for delivery in October, though it's unclear if any will come to Ireland.
