Skoda Ireland has announced the launch of the new Fabia Monte Carlo, which will once again be the sporty version of the new Fabia line-up.
Black roof
If you're thinking that it's a hot-hatch, well... you're wrong. The Fabia Monte Carlo gets some hot-hatch-like addenda, including a blacked-out grille, a contrast black roof, new bumpers and air intakes, a rear 'diffuser' insert for the back bumper, and polished black-and-silver 'Proxima' 16-inch alloy wheels.
Red highlights
Inside, the Fabia Monte Carlo gets a striking black and red cabin, with most of the materials on show being black, but with striking bright red highlights such as the centre console, the dashboard 'spar', and the door pulls. There are also some splashes of carbon-fibre-look trim around the place, and high-backed sports seats with rally stripes. Oh, and if you go for the digital instrument panel, you get special Monte Carlo graphics, too.
Two engine choices
As ever, the whole idea of the Monte Carlo models is to celebrate the old Fabia's giant-killing performances on the famed Monte Carlo Rally in the 2010s. The only shortfall is in performance. While some markets will get a distinctly sportier 1.5-litre 150hp version of the Fabia Monte Carlo, in Ireland we're only getting a choice of either a 1.0-litre 95hp turbo three-cylinder petrol engine, or that same engine, but with 110hp and a standard-fit DSG automatic gearbox.
Prices for Irish customers start from €24,750 and you can put your order in now.
