Subaru Ireland has confirmed pricing of its all-wheel-drive EV, the Solterra.

Irish pricing for the Subaru Solterra electric SUV has been confirmed by its distributor in Ireland as starting at €49,995 including all incentives. A two-model line-up has been detailed with all-wheel drive on both and an electric range of up to 465 kilometres.

In partnership with Toyota

The Subaru Solterra has been developed alongside the Toyota bZ4X in a partnership between the Japanese companies. Like the bZ4X, the Solterra is a five-door, five-seat SUV. The Solterra features electric motors front and rear as standard, for a maximum power output figure of 218hp and peak torque of 336Nm. The on-board AC charger is rated at 7kW, while DC rapid-charging is possible at up to 150kW.

Both models use the same 71.4kWh battery pack, covered by an eight-year/160,000km warranty. The entry-level model, on smaller wheels, manages up to 465km on a charge, while the higher-spec range-topper achieves up to 414km.

Generous specification

That base model is the Subaru Solterra Limited AWD, priced at €49,995. It includes 18-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, electrically-folding door mirrors, roof rails, heated steering wheel, heating for front and rear seats, keyless entry and start, powered tailgate, digital instruments, dual-zone climate control, 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, reversing camera, digital rear-view mirror and a wealth of other safety features.

For €54,995, the Solterra Touring AWD adds 20-inch rims, panoramic glass roof, synthetic leather upholstery, electric adjustment for front seats, wireless phone charger, an upgraded sound system and a wider choice of paint colours.

Availability in Ireland

As with most new models hitting the market, especially electric cars, demand promises to be strong for the Solterra, and Subaru Ireland confirms that supply is decent, but so is the level of presales for the car. Pat Ryan, Managing Director of Subaru UK and Ireland, told CompleteCar.ie:

"We expect the Solterra model to be available in dealer showrooms by mid-November. This is an incredibly well-specified car that has received significant interest from both existing Subaru owners and non-franchise customers alike. We believe that this model will generate significant interest in the motor-buying public in the coming months. Whilst availability is good, the level of presales is very high so please visit your local dealer to place your order."
