Jaguar has given its electric I-Pace a midlife update.

Jaguar has announced a series of minor updates to its electric I-Pace aimed at keeping the now five-year-old model competitive with an ever-growing number of rivals.

Styling changes

Not a huge amount has changed with the I-Pace's overall styling, with most of the tweaks occurring at the front. The grille now features a smoother texture, is finished in grey rather than black and is adorned with a newly revised black and silver Jaguar emblem. Lower down, the front air intakes are now coloured grey, with other elements of the car's styling - the door sills and rear diffuser, for instance - now body-coloured rather than gloss black as before. In contrast (in all senses of the word), the door mirrors, window surrounds and rear badges are now finished in black as standard, with customers also having the option to choose a contrasting black rear section of the panoramic glass roof. Two new satin grey paint colours have also been introduced to the I-Pace range.

That range, incidentally, has been slightly reconfigured with two trim levels in the line-up in ascending order of specification and price: SE and HSE.

Little changed elsewhere

Practically nothing else has changed with I-Pace either under the skin or inside the cabin.

The model still employs the same 90kWh battery pack supplying power to two electric motors to develop 400hp and 696Nm of torque and to deliver an official range between full charges of up to 470km. Maximum charging capacity at a suitably-equipped public charger is still 100kW - not class-leading, but still able to add around 127km of range in 15 minutes.

Inside, the I-Pace employs the same 10.0-inch central infotainment touchscreen running Jaguar Land Rover's Pivi Pro operating system, with two other displays in the form of the climate control screen and the digital driver's instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone mirroring and Spotify music streaming connectivity are also standard.

The updated Jaguar I-Pace is set to arrive in Ireland by the middle of 2023, with prices starting at €92,870.
