New version of Polestar 2 gets high-performance tweaks.

Polestar has created a second, limited-edition high-performance version of the Polestar 2 electric saloon.

Driver-focused changes

As with the previous Polestar 2 BST Edition 270, the BST Edition 230 gets some specific high-performance tweaks to turn it into more of a driver's car.

The Edition 230 uses the same twin-motor layout as the existing Performance Pack version of the Polestar 2, which means you get 476hp, 680Nm of torque, and a 0-100km/h time of 4.4 seconds. The top speed is 205km/h.

Special dampers and wheels

All the chassis upgrades that were first implemented on the original Polestar 2 BST edition 270 remain available, including the lowered ride height (25mm lower), specially developed and unique Öhlins two-way adjustable dampers, front strut bar, 20 per cent stiffer springs and unique black 21-inch alloy wheels that are inspired by those of Polestar 1, fitted with 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zero tyres developed specifically for BST edition cars.

There are also uprated brakes, with Brembo four-piston calipers and 400mm drilled & ventilated discs at the front, and standard single-piston calipers with 390 mm ventilated discs at the rear.

Nebula green paint

The Edition 230 is as much about style as it is about performance, and so you can choose from a rather groovy new green Nebula paintwork for the exterior (is anyone else getting a whiff of seventies bathroom suite from this) or Space black, and both colours can be had with a single full-length body stripe.

Inside there's a new MicroSuede textile for the seats and steering wheel inserts - made from partly recycled Nubuck material.

"Limited drops like the BST edition 230 allow us to explore colours, graphics and materials in faster and more creative ways," says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO.

Only 230 versions of the Edition 230 will - appropriately enough - be made and you can order yours from today, the 21st of March with the first deliveries expected in the third quarter of this year.
