Kia will produce high-performance versions of its Rio and cee'd models in 2012, according to sources close to the brand.
The Korean automaker is set to capitalise on the confidence the company has in its mainstream products and will introduce performance variants of its B-segment and C-segment versions.
The Rio is set to have 'around 160-170hp' from a small capacity turbocharged petrol engine, while the cee'd will have a 200hp+ powertrain coupled to a twin-clutch gearbox.
What these versions will be called remains unclear but it seems likely they will wear a GTi badge.
