Aston Martin has really rocked the F1 world so far this year, coming from the back of the pack last year to being the only serious challenger to Red Bull in 2023. Fernando Alonso, far from looking like someone approaching retirement, is wringing the neck of the gorgeous, green Aston racer and has been notching up podium finishes. Can a win be far away?
F1-style green paint
Even if it isn't, Aston is in the mood to celebrate, and so here comes a special edition of the DBX707 SUV decked out in the colour scheme of the F1 car, and wearing an AMR23 Edition badge, named after Fernando's Sunday-afternoon steed.
Created by Aston's bespoke 'Q' service, this takes the standard (hardly the right word but anyway...) 707hp V8-engined DBX as its basis. This AMR23 Edition gets 'Podium Green' paintwork, a special badge on the front wheelarches and brake calipers finished in Aston Martin racing green.
Body kit inspired by racing and medical cars
There's also a body kit, which makes the already-spectacular DBX look even more so, and which has been inspired by the aero package of not only the F1 car, but also the official F1 DBX medical car, which alternates events with Mercedes.
Inside, the AMR23 Edition adds striking lime contrast stitching to the 'Inspire Sport Duotone Onyx' black leather that also has Eifel Green panels. There are carbon fibre veneers and dark satin with carbon fibre jewellery, too. The AMR23 logo also appears on the door sills.
'New level of intensity'
Alex Long, Aston Martin's Head of Product and Market Strategy said: "The AMR23 Edition takes DBX707 to a new level of intensity, creating a stand-out ultra-luxury SUV with incredible road presence. It is a real pleasure to offer this special edition in celebration of the recent successes of our Formula 1 team. We are successfully competing at the pinnacle of world motorsport, and this represents a key pillar in our brand and product strategy for our road cars. We look forward to getting behind the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team once again, at the next round in Italy."
