What is it?
A hot hatchback version of the Swift. The previous Swift Sport was a little cracker of car - just quick enough to be interesting with thoroughly entertaining handling, but there hasn't been a performance flagship version of the current Swift since the facelifted model was introduced last year. The new car is faster, more powerful and more aggressive than its predecessor, promising a similarly grin-inducing drive.
Why's it here?
Not only does the Sport complete the current Swift line-up, but it also takes a few styling cues from the barmy, yellow Suzuki S-Concept that we saw earlier in the year.
Show stopper or floor filler?
Hot hatch fans can't fail to like it. It has all the usual mod cons like twin exit tailpipes, a boot spoiler, side skirts, multi-spoke alloys and a sharper front end. It's also packing 135hp and it's cleaner and more economical than its predecessor with 44.1mpg and 147g/km (the old Swift Sport managed 39.8mpg and 165g/km). A sportier exhaust note and numerous new safety features are also on the cards.
