In a far-reaching partnership, Volkswagen Group Ireland has signed a deal with the AA to offer roadside recovery to all of its brands' customers.
All six marques
It means that from now on, buyers of all six Volkswagen Group Ireland brands - Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, Cupra, SEAT, Skoda and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles - will receive automatic AA roadside recovery and support.
The deal goes further than just new cars though. The AA cover will be extended - in a programme called SARA, or Service Activated Roadside Assistance - to used cars too. It means that any Volkswagen Group vehicle serviced at an authorised service centre will be given one year's free roadside assistance cover.
Approved used cars
On top of that, approved used cars from the Volkswagen Group sold by an approved retailer will be given up to two years' AA cover.
The combined packages mean that as many as 250,000 Irish motorists will now benefit from AA roadside rescue and assistance should they need it.
