30 new cars at Tokyo Show

Organisers of Tokyo Motor Show boast of 30 world debuts.

With the Frankfurt Motor Show now but a distant memory the rumour mill has shifted focus to the upcoming 42nd Tokyo Motor Show, which begins on November 30. Recent news from the organisers points to more than 30 significant world premieres taking place at the show, covering everything from EV concepts to plug-in hybrid trucks. No official details yet on what these significant debuts might be but that has not stopped the wonderful world of the interweb guessing what the 15 Japanese and 23 foreign brands might bring to Tokyo.

It has already been all but confirmed that the Subaru BRZ (aka the 'Toy-baru') will be unveiled as a production model following its final bow as a concept at the upcoming LA Auto Show while the usual talk of a Type R variant of the Honda CR-Z coupé still persists. Another limited edition of the already limited edition Lexus LFA is a possibility with a Tokyo Edition of the supercar mooted.

Of course it would not be the Tokyo Motor Show unless a possible successor to the Toyota Supra is mentioned but Toyota will probably just blow the dust off the perennial FT-86 Concept II show car instead. Or will it?
