But only for a visit, not for sale…

Tesla has announced that it will bring a single new all-electric Cybertruck to Ireland to show off to the Irish car-buying public across the month of June.

Belfast, Dublin, and Cork

The Cybertruck will first visit the Tesla sales centre in Belfast from the 7th to 9th of June, and then ten will move to the Tesla Centre Dublin, in Sandyford, for the 14th of June. Next up, the Cybertruck will head around the corner to the Dundrum Shopping Centre on the 15th of June before finishing up at the Tesla Centre Cork from the 18th to 23rd of June.

Now, this is purely a static display thing. Currently, the Cybertruck can’t be sold in Europe because that huge, bluff front end wouldn’t get past European pedestrian impact legislation, so Tesla is simply bringing one here to show off the art of its possible.

No Euro sales plans yet

Officially, Tesla has said, regarding European sales prospects, that: “While production ramp up will take time, Tesla will be focusing on North America, the main volume market for pick-up trucks. Cybertruck is currently not available in Europe and timescales for deliveries outside of North America have yet to be announced.”

Stainless steel panels

Made of ultra-hard ‘30X’ cold-rolled stainless steel, the Cybertruck has the performance to back up its sci-fi styling (even Tesla says that it’s a bit Blade Runner-y). It uses a 123kWh battery pack for a range of up to 545km on the official US EPA test, and with three electric motors and a ‘Cyberbeast’ acceleration mode, it can use its 845hp to accelerate to 100km./h in about 3.0 seconds. There are also dual and single-motor models too, and the Cybertruck can carry as much as 1,100kg of payload and tow as much as 5,000kg (where it’s legal to do so).

According to Tesla Ireland: “The public will be able to meet the vehicle and learn more about its unique specs, features and innovative engineering. Attendees will also have the opportunity to book test drives with the award-winning Model Y and upgraded Model 3.“
