The new Lexus GS range has not even hit the showrooms yet but already the Japanese manufacturer have made the BMW 5 Series rival more appealing with the announcement that the GS is to receive the full F Sport treatment. Set to be unveiled on November 1 at the SEMA extravaganza in Las Vegas, the Lexus GS F Sport will join the existing IS F Sport and the recently announced CT 200h F Sport when it enters the Irish market next year.
As part of the upgrade the GS F Sport gains an aggressive new front bumper design complete with larger side grilles, a unique rear diffuser and on the 450h model, likely to be the only model offered in Ireland, extra chrome trim to the lower section of the bumper. All models will also wear F Sport specific 19-inch dark metallic alloy wheels with wider rear rims to aid traction.
Front and rear shock absorbers will be retuned to maximise the effect of the Adaptive Variable Suspension that allows the driver to choose between Normal and Sport S+ driving modes depending on their mood. These suspension settings are complemented by Eco, Normal, Sport and Sport S+ options for the engine and transmission, meaning a choice between full-attack mode or a more relaxed, environmentally friendly drive in which to best enjoy the F Sport interior changes.
These include 16-way adjustable seats, aluminium pedals, an F Sport steering wheel and gear knob and an exclusive Garnet red upholstery.
Full details and specifications of the Lexus GS F Sport for the Irish market will be confirmed nearer the time of launch. That's currently set to 'mid 2012'.
