Fast ePower EV chargers at five Irish train stations

ePower partners with Iarnród Éireann to install EV chargers at five train stations in Ireland.

Today it has been announced that ePower, a renewable energy solutions provider in Ireland, has installed multiple 150kW fast chargers for electric vehicles (EVs) at five train stations nationwide.

The newly installed fast chargers are now operational at the following train stations: Dundalk (Clarke), Tralee (Casement), Westport, Sallins & Naas, and Bray (Daly).

These locations were chosen for their high traffic and strategic importance. The chargers are designed to accommodate both older ‘CHAdeMO’ chargers and the newer CCS formats, making them compatible with a wide range of electric vehicles.

Commitment to renewable energy

Established in 2019, ePower’s renewable energy solutions include EV chargers and solar panels. The company operates out of Dublin and Cork and employs 55 people.

Hugh Hall, co-founder and director of ePower, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, "We are delighted to be working with Iarnród Éireann / Irish Rail on this project. This equipment will cater to the widest possible group of EV drivers as they will be suitable for the older-style of CHAdeMO chargers, as well as the newer CCS formats. Having chargers at its stations illustrates Iarnród Éireann / Irish Rail's commitment to facilitating the growing community of EV drivers and we're also proud to be helping promote more environmentally friendly transport options for the public as well as our own customers".

ePower’s expanding footprint

The partnership with Iarnród Éireann / Irish Rail is the latest in a series of strategic installations for ePower. Over the past 18 months, the company has expanded its EV charging network to various high-profile locations, including sites managed by the Defence Forces, the Environmental Protection Agency, renewable energy firm Ørsted and 13 hotels operated by Windward Management. Additionally, ePower recently opened a new base in Ballymount, Dublin.
