Toyota is encouraging Irish car buyers to upgrade to a plug-in hybrid this July as it trims the price of the new C-HR PHEV model.
So how much is the C-HR PHEV now?
Up to the end of the month, and to coincide with the July number plate change, the C-HR plug-in hybrid is now priced at the same level as the standard hybrid version. So, you can now have a C-HR PHEV in Sport+ trim for €42,920 (that’s down from €45,315) or the C-HR PHEV Sol for €45,101 (down from €47,275).
How far does it go on a charge?
The C-HR plug-in hybrid version offers as much as 66km of electric-only range if you fully charge its battery but still has the 2.0-litre petrol engine on board for longer journeys. Standard spec includes a 12-inch touchscreen, while some models have ambient cabin lighting.
Any other offers?
There are also some special offers for the hugely popular RAV4 SUV. Celebrating its 30th birthday this year, the RAV4 - available as both a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid - can now be bought with a finance package featuring 5.9 per cent interest, down from 7.4 per cent. The plug-in hybrid model also gets a €1,750 trade-in boost.
Zoë Bradley, Head of Marketing Communications and Corporate Affairs in Toyota Ireland, said, “Toyota’s Plug-In Hybrid technology offers access to both innovation in Hybrid and an impressive pure electric driving range. Thanks to the dual powertrain, drivers can charge up and use electric in their daily commutes, up to 66km, and for longer journeys have the reassurance of hybrid driving and can fuel up as normal for that. Plug-In Hybrid models offer an environmentally friendly option to drivers that saves on fuel and running costs, compared to diesel and petrol models, and are perfect for both daily commutes and longer drives. The striking Toyota C-HR Plug-In Hybrid is a standout statement vehicle, now available at its best-ever value for the month of July, with the added bonus of a €1,750 trade-in booster or 5.9 per cent APR. We encourage those interested to contact their local Toyota dealership as soon as possible to avail of the July upgrade offer.”
