Fota Island Resort partners with ePower to enhance sustainability with 12 new electric vehicle charging points.

ePower, a renewable energy solutions provider, has expanded its network by partnering with Fota Island Resort where it has installed 12 electric vehicle (EV) charge points.

The installation at Fota Island Resort includes six dual AC chargers and a 180kW dual-socket DC charger, the fastest in the East Cork area. These charging points are now available for hotel guests and the public.

What did all involved have to say about it?

John O' Keeffe, CEO of ePower, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership: “We're delighted to have partnered with Fota Island Resort for the installation of our EV chargers on site. Fota is a beautiful location that places great emphasis on sustainability. It’s a great addition to our other partner hotels all around Ireland. With the demand for greener transport solutions growing all the time, we are really well placed to support the travel and tourism industry as they cater to a growing number of EV drivers.”

Finola Twomey, Director of Revenue, Sales and Marketing at Fota Island Resort and The Kingsley, added: “It made perfect sense to partner with a company with such a wealth of experience in our sector, the charging solutions we have in place through ePower serve our guests perfectly with a mix of fast and overnight charging. Ideal for those who drop in for lunch or a meeting as well as the guests that are staying with us.”

Are there other ePower chargers in Ireland?

ePower’s partnerships with Irish hotels are part of its broader strategy to expand its renewable energy solutions. Recently, the company installed EV chargers at five Irish Rail/Iarnród Éireann stations, at the Environmental Protection Agency and renewable energy firm Ørsted. Additionally, ePower opened its first Dublin base in Ballymount to meet the growing demand for its services.

ePower, established in 2019, operates from bases in Dublin and Cork and employs 55 people. The company provides EV chargers and charging cables compatible with all types of electric or hybrid cars. It offers 24/7 support and fully managed solutions for homes, businesses and the public nationwide.
