Cannonball Ireland 2024 will see 200 supercars covering over 1,000 kilometres from 6-8 September.

The route for Cannonball Ireland 2024 has been officially announced, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting event from 6-8 September. The three-day supercar road trip, which has raised over €1.6 million for Irish charities to date, will cover more than 1,000 kilometres of Irish roads, feature 200 supercars, and attract over 200,000 spectators.

Charity partner

This year, the official charity of Cannonball is The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, an Irish charity providing in-home nursing care and respite support for children with severe learning disabilities. Cannonball Ireland 2024 will include a fundraising initiative by Circle K, where 1 cent from every litre of miles and milesPLUS fuel sold will be donated to the charity.

Official route

The event kicks off on Thursday, 5 September, at Johnstown Estate in Enfield, Co. Meath, with a display of supercars starting at 6 pm. Here, the brand-new Lamborghini Revuelto will be unveiled in Ireland for the first time. The convoy will depart on Friday, 6 September, with stops planned at Kilkenny, Gorey, and Wexford, concluding the day at Wexford Quay Front. The journey continues on Saturday, 7 September, with stops in Kilcullen, Enniskerry, and Salthill, Co. Galway. The final day, Sunday, 8 September, will see the cars travel from Galway to Athlone, Mohill, and ultimately Trim, Co. Meath.

Family-friendly fun

The event is not just about cars; it also features a free family festival with music, live performances, and a carnival atmosphere. Spectators are encouraged to join the fun by dressing up in fancy dress, with prizes awarded for the best costumes.

Deirdre Walsh, CEO of Jack and Jill, said: “There are so many ways people can get involved in this brilliant fundraiser to support Jack and Jill families in their local community, whether it’s showing up along the route and popping a few Euro in our collection buckets, volunteering to help our fundraising effort, supporting our exciting inaugural ‘Cannonball Fundraising Grand Prix,’ or simply filling up at your nearest Circle K; every cent makes a difference. A massive thank you to our friends in Cannonball Ireland and Circle K for this wonderful opportunity!”

Cannonball Ireland was founded by Alan Bannon, and the event is expected to bring significant economic benefits to host towns, estimated at over €2.5 million annually. For more details, visit the official Cannonball Ireland website
