In 2014, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland offered the Marie Keating Foundation the use of some Caddy vans to allow the famed cancer charity’s nurses to get around the country and carry out their much-needed work.
A ten-year alliance
That was the beginning of, to date, a ten-year alliance between Volkswagen and the Marie Keating Foundation. It’s an alliance that, today, still sees Marie Keating nurses using Caddy vans, helping them in particular to get to patients in remote rural areas. The vans, with their liveries, also carry out an important secondary role, promoting the importance of early cancer detection and support following a diagnosis.
While VW’s vans are a familiar sight up and down Ireland, the Marie Keating Foundation is equally well recognised. It is one of the country’s most significant contributors to cancer care, touching the lives of thousands of people every year.
Honoured to be associated
Kim Kilduff, Head of Sales and Marketing for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland, said: “We are delighted to mark the 10th year of our relationship with the Marie Keating Foundation and are honoured to have our vehicles associated with such a great cause.”
Liz Yeates, CEO of the Marie Keating, said she was “incredibly proud” to celebrate a decade of partnership with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
Unwavering support
She added, “Their unwavering support and donation of Volkswagen Caddy vans over the past 10 years has been instrumental in supporting our specialist community nursing service, enabling them to travel to communities all around Ireland, raising awareness about the signs and symptoms of cancer and providing essential support to those affected by cancer.
“We are immensely grateful for Volkswagen's continued support. Without the Caddy Vans, our nurses would not be able to reach those remote and often underserved communities bringing their all - important message of early detection to thousands of people throughout the country every year. We cannot thank Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland enough for its steadfast commitment and look forward to many more years of partnership together.”
