MG Ireland has confirmed pricing and specifications for the incoming new ZS Hybrid+ model, which will have a starting price of €28,995.
What does that kind of money get you?
That will get you an Essence model, which will come with standard equipment including a 10.25-inch HD infotainment display with navigation, a seven-inch digital driver display, rear parking sensors with a camera, automatic headlights and heated mirrors.
For €31,495, you can have an Excite model, featuring 17-inch alloy wheels with full LED lighting at the front and rear, a 12.3-inch HD infotainment display with navigation and live services, rain-sensing wipers, a leather steering wheel and keyless entry.
What’s the top-spec MG ZS?
Finally, at the top of the range, there’s the €33,995 Exclusive model, which gets 18-inch ‘Sabre’ alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, leather-style upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.
All models come as standard with a seven-year, 150,000km warranty and all versions of the ZS also get the MG Pilot safety suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, active emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot detection, forward collision warning and traffic jam assist.
What about an electric ZS?
There’s no electric version of the ZS this time around - MG will instead launch an electric sibling model of a similar size, based on the MG 4 hatchback, which will sell alongside this ZS - so all versions get the same engine: a 1.5-litre hybrid with 196hp and a 0-100km/h time of 8.7 seconds.
Thanks to its hybrid system, MG claims the ZS can achieve 5.1 litres per 100km, and has CO2 emissions of 113g/km.
Mircea Rus, Product Manager for MG Ireland, stated: “The All-New MG ZS Hybrid+ offers an outstanding driving experience and incredible value within the B-SUV segment, featuring equipment and technologies that simplify daily life, with a hybrid powertrain that is one of the most efficient in the market and can substantially reduce fuel costs.”
Irish buyers can order the new ZS now; the first deliveries will be made later this year.
