New Skoda Enyaq 85+ with longer range

New Skoda Enyaq 85+ model has a one-charge range of up to 569km.

Skoda has updated the Enyaq electric SUV with some battery revisions and the latest 285hp rear-mounted electric motor.

What kind of difference does all that make?

That combo creates the Enayq 85+ model, which is the only version you can buy for now, priced from €48,900 net of VRT rebate and grants. The new Enyaq 85+ boasts a one-charge range of up to 569km (the gains partly made from improved batteries, and partly from the new, more powerful electric motor being more efficient). The net battery capacity remains the same, at 77kWh.

There’s also a Sportline model, which retails at €55,000 (net of grant) and which has a fractionally shorter range of 567km on one charge.

Is that the cheapest Enyaq now?

The previous Enyaq 60 model, which used a smaller 58kWh battery pack and had a reduced range, has been dropped, not least because in October, Skoda will reveal its all-new Elroq electric SUV. This SUV will slot into the lineup beneath the Enyaq, making the cheaper, shorter-range Enyaq rather superfluous.

The Enyaq Coupe gets the same round of technical updates, and has prices starting from €52,750. All Enyaq models get a standard eight-year, 160,000km warranty for the battery, and for €671 you can extend the full-vehicle warranty to five years and 150,000km.

Skoda is also offering the revised Enyaq at tempting finance package rates, with 1.9 per cent available for PCP buyers (which, of course, guarantees the future used value) or 0 per cent for HP buyers.

What about the standard specification?

The Enyaq’s standard equipment list has also been expanded, with Skoda Ireland saying that 27 additional items have been added to the standard spec, including adaptive cruise control, full keyless entry, wireless phone charging, blind spot monitoring, heated leather steering wheel, three-zone climate control, extra USB-C sockets, rear side airbags, Mateix LED headlights, 20-inch alloys, full leather trim and more.

John Donegan, Brand Director of Skoda Ireland, commented: “We are forecasting a rebound in the Irish electric vehicle market next year, returning to 2023 sales levels. We are confident that Skoda will grow its share of the electric market with the arrival of the new Elroq early next year, along with our revised, highly specified Enyaq, which is now available to order. The Enyaq has been sold out in Ireland for some time, with only used and demonstrator models available. I would advise prospective customers to visit their local Skoda dealer early if they are considering an Enyaq or any other Skoda model for 2025.”
