Prices start from €39,900 for the revised Nissan Qashqai.

Nissan’s big-selling Qashqai has been given a major update for this year, and it’s just gone on sale in Ireland, priced from €39,900.

What do you get for that price?

That sort of money gets you a Qashqai with the 1.3-litre mild hybrid turbo petrol engine in SV trim. SV Premium Grade with the same engine costs €43,300, and from €46,300, you’ll get the SV Tech grade. It is also available with a CVT automatic gearbox from €43,400 for the SV grade, €46,800 for the SV Premium grade, €49,800 for the SV Tech grade, and €52,700 for the SVE grade.

Isn’t there a hybrid Qashqai too?

Indeed, there is. The hybrid e-Power Qashqai comes in four grades. The entry-grade SV model costs €45,000. The SV Premium grade costs €48,400, the SV Tech grade costs €51,400, and the top-of-the-range SVE grade costs €54,400.

What comes as standard?

Standard specifications across the range include alloy wheels, full LED headlights, auto headlights with high beam assist, and rain-sensing wipers are standard across the range. Standard safety features include rear parking sensors, blind spot warning and intervention, traffic sign recognition, Intelligent Cruise Control, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, and Intelligent Front Emergency Braking with pedestrian, cyclist and junction assist.

What else is new?

The Qashqai’s styling has been updated with a new grille and lights, while the interior has been given a going over with an upgraded infotainment system that uses Google software. The surround-view camera system now also includes a Land Rover-style transparent bonnet effect for tackling tricky ground.

Seamus Morgan, Managing Director at Nissan Ireland said: “The Nissan Qashqai has been one of Ireland’s favourite cars since Nissan pioneered the crossover segment in 2007. The new Qashqai has been completely modernised and its new design, upgraded tech and refined interior continues to set the standard for crossovers. The latest changes greatly enhance everything that our customers love about Qashqai, adding even more intuitive and convenient technology. Families all over Ireland have grown up with Qashqai and we are proud to unveil how Nissan has reimagined the car so that it can better meet the everyday needs of drivers, especially those with families big and small.”
