The new Cupra Tavascan — the Spanish brand’s second electric-only model, following the Born hatchback — has arrived in Ireland, and for January, Cupra Ireland will be knocking a full €7,000 off the list price.
Massive discount
That’s thanks to a promotion which sees Cupra taking the €3,500 SEAI grant for each Tavascan buyer, and matching it, creating that massive discount for the new EV SUV-Coupe.
Prices for January at any rate will start from €44,365 for the Tavascan Endurance Type 4. That comes with a 77kWh battery, a 286hp electric motor driving the rear wheels, and a range of up to 569km. Standard equipment for this model includes 19-inch machined alloy wheels, bucket seats, illuminated Cupra badges front and rear, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a rear camera and 15-inch infotainment screen.
Two model trims
Then there’s the Tavascan Endurance Type 6, which costs €54,765, gets the same 286hp motor and 77kWh battery, and a range of up to 546km. Standard equipment now includes 21-inch machined alloy wheels, heated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, a Sennheiser sound system, and a top-view 360-degree parking camera.
PCP finance
As well as the SEAI grant booster, Cupra Ireland will also have a competitive finance package with monthly repayments for a Tavascan starting from €319 per month on a 3.9 per cent APR PCP finance plan.
The arrival of the Tavascan marks a big turning point for Cupra, as it now means that the brand has a lineup that’s now majority-unique to the brand. The Tavascan is a Cupra-only model, as is the new Terramar SUV, the updated Formentor, and the Born. The Leon hatchback and estate and the Ateca SUV are the only remaining Cupra models still shared with SEAT.
