New online manuals, expert sites and parts sourcing for Renault classics.

Available through the Originals Renault Services, there’s now a comprehensive range of services that builds on the initial programme that would verify precisely when an owner’s car was made.

Can you explain that a little more?

In 2022, Renault set up a scheme that would enable owners of older models the chance to obtain a classic vehicle registration document, as well as certificates showing when their vehicles left the factory, including the chassis, engine and gearbox numbers, as well as the colours and options selected.

Now, though, Originals Renault Services includes the ability for classic-car owners to find spare parts through a network of Renault aftersales sites, with each one selected for their expertise in older models. This network includes Renault’s long-standing partners in specialist areas such as sports cars from the manufacturer’s past (Arnaud Ventoux Pièces), as well as upholstery (ASCI Sellerie) and its more mainstream products too (Melun Retro Passion).

And there are now 50 repair manuals from Renault’s own archives which are available free of charge on the new site, as well as a number of online educational tutorials, which will allow owners and collectors to carry out their own service and repair work on their cars if they prefer.

Is there anything else happening as part of Originals Renault Services?

There is, but at the moment it is restricted to the company’s homeland of France - although there are plans to expand the scheme internationally if it goes well.

Anyway, Renault is going to provide direct access to some of the expert sites mentioned above, for enthusiasts who are looking for professional service, repairs or restoration of their historic models.

Eight of the sites across France will be part of this initial roll-out, and each one has been trained in customer service to Renault’s own standards accordingly.

If the initial network goes well, then Renault will expand the Originals service to 25 sites across France, covering 80 per cent of the country and meaning owners of classic Renaults shouldn’t have to travel more than 100km to find one of the approved expert sites.

After that, Renault will look at replicating this aftersales scheme in other countries - so fingers crossed for ‘Le Diamond’ owners here that it will one day come to Ireland.

Anything else to add?

Arnaud Belloni, the global CMO and chief branding officer for all brands in the Renault Group, said: “We are deploying new services developed specifically for enthusiasts and collectors of classic Renault vehicles, allowing them to service, restore and maintain their automotive treasures. It’s a way of protecting our shared automotive heritage, so that we can pass it on to future generations.”
